IMAGINARY REAL was a pop up gallery event featuring interactive installations by artists exploring mediated perceptions of “reality”. Community members and experimental artists alike donned headsets, peered into sculpted spaces, and gazed into the middle, outer, and inner distance. How do art and technology filter, form, or enlighten what we experience with our senses? What are we hoping for when we seek out a combination of the “virtual” and the “real”? Presented at Automata in Los Angeles, August, 2017.
