Hôtel de l’Avenir by Alexis Macnab

A clown, a cuckold, a chorus girl, a runaway and a writer find solace for the night in the City of Light in this celebration of urban isolation and the tenacity of hopeful dreaming. Told with shadow puppets, cancan, and accordion, Hôtel de l'Avenir is a cabaret about loving and leaving the city of your dreams. Written and performed by Alexis Macnab, Hôtel de l’Avenir played to full houses in New York and earned and glowing reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

“FOUR STARS”

"'The entire city is like a blank piece of paper.' Movement, music, art and storytelling combine in the dreamlike world of 'Hôtel de  l'Avenir.' Macnab plays all six of the quirky main characters with great panache; she's a 'cant-take-your-eyes-off her' kind of actress. …I was swept off my feet by the  beauty and very French kind of nostalgia of this wonderful production." - Three Weeks
