Imaginary Real

Presented at Automata in L.A.'s Chinatown gallery district on August 5th, 2017, IMAGINARY REAL was a free event featuring artists working in a wide range of disciplines exploring mediated perceptions of “reality”. From burgeoning VR engines, to personal sculptural interfaces, how do art and technology filter, form, or enlighten what we experience with our senses? What are we hoping for when we seek out a combination of the “virtual” and the “real”?

Community members and experimental artists alike donned headsets, peered into sculpted spaces, and gazed into the middle, outer, and inner distance.
